YouthLink’s Josephine Pufpaff, director of program development and evaluation, recently spent some time on Twin Cities Insight, a podcast that gives local groups, charities and organizations the opportunity to share their story, to talk about youth homelessness and the support kids need during desperate times.

We first met Derrick at YouthLink as a referral from his school counselor in the fall of 2009. He was struggling to consistently maintain his basic needs–like finding a warm bed and a hot meal. And, he was no longer living at home with his family.
This fall has been a busy time for the YouthLink staff when it comes to our Employment and Education programs. Our staff and volunteers have been hard at work helping local youth study and stay on top of schoolwork, manage living on their own and find suitable jobs and internships.
The garden-variety annual report is typically chock full of corporate speak, jargon and hard-to-understand business language. Fortunately, you won’t find any of those things in YouthLink’s 2009 Report the Community.
