Health & Wellness

We know homelessness can put an enormous amount of physical and emotional stress on a person. At YouthLink, we host an on-site medical clinic and a team of mental health professionals to help young people in their time of need.

Physical Health

Health care is one of the most basic of all human needs but also one of the hardest to find when you’re out on the street. Through a partnership with Healthcare for the Homeless, young people have access to a host of basic health care services, including:

  • Birth control
  • Pregnancy testing
  • Immunizations
  • STD testing and treatment
  • Strep tests
  • Injury and illness check-ups

Our clinic is open Tuesdays from 3:00 – 7 p.m. and on Thursdays from 3:30-6:30 p.m.

It’s professional, responsible, reliable and youth-friendly health care.

Mental Health

Counselors are available to meet with young people for short-term assistance and/or regular on-going appointments. We can help young people if they:

  • Need someone to talk to
  • Consistently feel down
  • Experience or have experienced abuse
  • Face family and friend conflicts
  • Are feeling suicidal or homicidal

We’ll also help young people with referrals for psychiatric appointments and information they might need about medications.

Just call 612.252.1200 between 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. for an appointment or ask for walk-in hours.
