YouthLink’s Drop-In Center–also known as Project Offstreets–is a safe place youth can visit when there’s no where else to turn. It’s a one-stop shop of sorts for homeless youth that offers basic health care needs, long-term housing referrals and help finding a job–all under one roof.
More specifically, during a visit to the Drop-In Center, young people have access to:
- Help obtaining a social security card, state ID’s, birth certificates, etc.
- Shower, access laundry facilities
- Personal hygiene products and clean clothes
- Safe and secure lockers
- Sound and trusted legal advice
- Reliable on-site medical clinic services
- A caring, trusting adult to talk to
The Drop-In Center is a place for young people to call home as they move past their immediate survival needs and realize their full, individual potential. That said, reuniting youth with their families is also an important part of our jobs.
The Drop-In Center is 0pen Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and is closed Saturday and Sunday. Intakes are done from 9am to 7pm Monday through Friday. If you or a young person you know can’t make it during those hours, please contact a case manager and arrange an individual appointment.
We now also offer hours for young people between the ages of 18-23 who are accessing adult shelters. These hours are from 9am-2pm and are for the purpose of connecting them to services. If you have any questions regarding this service, please feel free to contact our front desk at 612-252-1200.
