Letter from our Board Chair

Dear YouthLink Community,

As we stand at the threshold of 2024, I am filled with profound gratitude and admiration for each one of you who has made our journey at YouthLink so extraordinary. With heartfelt enthusiasm, I step into my role as the new Chair of the Board of Directors, and I am honored to reflect on the incredible strides we’ve made together.

In this new year, our collective efforts will continue to weave threads of hope and resilience for the youth we serve. A beacon of light, YouthLink has expanded its reach, embracing an increasing number of young people seeking resources and support. The rise in numbers of those we assist is not just a statistic but a testament to our commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of young people who are often dealing with very difficult situations.

Our incredible staff and leadership have risen to the challenge with unwavering dedication. Walking alongside our Voices of Youth Advisory Council and the youth we serve, we are collaborative architects of success, equipped not only to manage the surge in numbers but to provide compassionate care that transcends mere statistics. The heart of our mission beats vibrantly within the walls of our drop-in center and supportive housing, where services harmonize to meet the diverse needs of youth.

Within these walls, we offer more than shelter; we provide a haven where basic needs, mental and physical health care, housing assistance, healing centered group sessions, and more meet needs and heal. Each resource is a lifeline, a testament to our holistic approach in nurturing the well-being of those we serve.

To our generous donors, esteemed board members, benevolent grantors, and our dedicated staff, and most of all to the amazing young people we work with, I extend the deepest thanks. Your support and collaboration fuel the engine of our endeavors, moving us forward with the strength to overcome challenges and create lasting impact.

As we celebrate our accomplishments, we also acknowledge that the need for increased financial, in-kind, and volunteer support has grown. Let us, as a united community, rise to the occasion and continue to be catalysts for positive change. Together, we can be a pillar for those who aspire to live beyond the confines of homelessness.

Warm regards,

Jared Brewington

Chair of the Board of Directors, YouthLink
